Alcohol Compliance Checks Conducted
The Waverly Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance check on local businesses who sell alcoholic beverages on April 23. The operation was led by Officer Jonathan Fortner. The department periodically conducts these checks to help ensure that businesses who hold beer permits do not sell to minors.
Of the 18 businesses checked, only one was not in compliance. According to Chief David Daniel, “We are proud of our businesses who are making the effort to check I.D. and deny alcohol sales to underage people. This compliance rate is a good indicator of how well our local businesses are working with us to combat underage drinking.”
