Severe Weather – Flooding

April 27th 2011

Humphreys County continues to experience flooding.

A shelter remains open at the Waverly Church of Christ with approximately 30 individuals sheltering.

Creeks are beginning to recede but numerous roads remain closed due to flooding and bridges out.

No additional evacuations are anticipated but today’s weather may impact this decision.

Some flooding of houses (approximately 10) and businesses (approximately 4) has occurred.

Many homes remain without electricity from yesterday’s and last night’s high winds.

No major wind damage has been reported from last night’s storm.

School has been cancelled for today.
