Taylor Graduates Police Academy

Waverly Public Safety Officer Chris Taylor graduated Basic Police School at the TN Law Enforcement Training Academy on March 16. The 10 week school meets the TN POST basic training requirements for new police officers.

Officer Taylor was hired in October of 2011 after an extensive hiring process implemented by the Waverly Police Department. The process includes a physical agility test, written exam, oral interview boards, and an extensive background investigation.

Officer Taylor has been in the Field Training program since being hired, which includes an additional 14 weeks of training on the street under the supervision of a senior training officer. In addition, Officer Taylor will attend the Basic Firefighting Academy this summer.

Officer Taylor’s certificate was presented at graduation by his father, Mike Taylor, who is a Sheriff’s Deputy in Carroll county. Officer Taylor lives in Waverly with his wife, Stephanie (Page), and daughter, Kenedie.
