WPD to Offer S.A.F.E. Program for Women
Officer Joe Parnell recently received his instructor certification from the National Self-Defense Institute. Parnell is now certified to teach the Self-defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange (S.A.F.E.) Program. S.A.F.E. is a two hour program designed to introduce women to basic self-defense familiarization and tactics. The class emphasizes to women the importance of not being an easy target of violent crime.
Although open enrollment classes will be scheduled soon, any women’s church group, civic club, etc. that is interested in hosting a class can do so.
