WPD to Offer S.A.F.E. Program for Women

Officer Joe ParnellOfficer Joe Parnell recently received his instructor certification from the National Self-Defense Institute.  Parnell is now certified to teach the Self-defense Awareness & Familiarization Exchange (S.A.F.E.) Program.  S.A.F.E. is a two hour program designed to introduce women to basic self-defense familiarization and tactics.  The class emphasizes to women the importance of not being an easy target of violent crime.

Although open enrollment classes will be scheduled soon, any women’s church group, civic club, etc. that is interested in hosting a class can do so.  For more information contact Chief David Daniel or Officer Joe Parnell at 931-296-3003 or through the department’s website at www.waverlypublicsafety.com.
