2011 Firefighter of the Year
Each year, the members of the Fire Department vote for a Firefighter of the Year. The award is taken seriously and is given to the member who best represents what we believe are the values of our organization. The award is sponsored by Volunteer Ready Mix in Waverly.
The 2011 Firefighter of the Year is Firefighter Chris Browning. Browning has served as a Firefighter since 2007. He has helped with numerous special projects at the Fire Department, and this year joined the Police Department as a volunteer Reserve Police Officer. He lives in Waverly with his fiance, Stephanie, and one child. He is a full time employee of the City of Waverly Street Department.
“Chris is a hard working and dedicated member of our Department. He is always willing to step up and take on additional responsibilities, and I am proud that he was selected as Firefighter of the Year”, said Chief David Daniel.
