Halloween Traffic Closures

East Main Street will be closed to thru traffic from Cooley St. (by First Baptist Church) to Fairground Dr. beginning at 5:00 pm until about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 31.  The Waverly First Baptist Church will be hosting their Fall Festival street party in the area.

In addition, there will be “Trunk or Treat” activities at Waverly United Methodist Church and on the east side of the courthouse sponsored by Friendship Church’s Youth Center that evening.

The Department of Public Safety encourages everyone to drive safely Halloween night , expecially in the downtown area.  Please encourage children to be careful when crossing streets and walking near roadways.
