WPD Conducts Weekend Saturation Patrols

The Waverly Police Department conducted Saturation Patrols during this past Memorial Day Weekend.  The patrols were conducted to enhance traffic safety during this period which included our high school graduation.

During the weekend which was from Friday, May 22 thru Monday May 25, Waverly Police Officers conducted 87 traffic stops and answered 69 calls for service.  As a result of these field contacts, 31 Citations were issued and 14 arrests and/or misdemeanor citations were issued for:

Traffic Citations:

13 Seatbelt Violations
7 Speeding
5 Registration Violations
3 No Insurance
1 Failure to Yield
2 Open Alcohol

Arrests and/or Misdemeanor Citations:

1 DUI
1 Violation of Implied Consent
6 Driving on Revoked/Suspended
1 Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
1 Simple Possession
1 Outstanding Warrants Served
2 Disorderly Conduct
1 Resisting Arrest
