Session 7 of the Citizen’s Police Academy is underway, and participants held their second session last night (Tuesday). They covered legal topics related to law enforcement and enjoyed a great deal of discussion on the issues that police officers face. Pictures are posted on our Facebook page. Next week, cadets will learn about patrol operations and tactics including real-world scenarios.
The Waverly Police Department has stepped up its enforcement of handicapped and fire lane parking regulations in all shopping and public parking areas. The Department encourages everyone to park legally to make handicaped parking accessible to those in need and keep our fire lanes clear for emergency response.
Waverly Police Department Goes High Tech to Search for Missing Children
Waverly, TN — The Waverly Police Department’s Police Chief, David Daniel, has formalized an agreement with the A Child Is Missing Alert Program that has led to a high tech method now in place to search locally for missing children, missing elderly (often with Alzheimer’s), college students, and missing persons who may be mentally or physically challenged or disabled.

Citizens Police Academy -Session 7
Session 7 of the Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) is set to begin Tuesday, February 15 at 6pm. Chief David Daniel and officers from the Waverly Police Department will conduct the program. Classes are approximately three hours in length and are held every Tuesday night through April 19th. The Department of Public Safety received a grant from Fred’s Department Store as part of its Hometown Heroes program. The grant of $382 will be used to purchase equipment for the department. Store Manager Sheila Johnson presented Chief David Daniel with the grant.
