Fireworks Event this Saturday

The community fireworks event co-sponsored by the City of Waverly, Music on the Square, and Temple-Inland will be held Saturday, July 3, at Waverly Central High School.  Music on the Square will be held inside the football stadium beginning at 7:00 pm, with the fireworks at 9:30 pm.  The fireworks show will be handled by Pyro-Shows and accompanying music will be played on the stadium sound system as well as on WQMV AM 1060. Municipal Court Now Accepts Credit/Debit Cards

The Waverly Municipal Court now accepts credit/debit cards for payment for traffic or other citations.  If you have a citation to pay, stop by the Waverly Police Department Mon-Fri between 08:00 am and 04:30 pm, and the clerk will accept your payment.  For additional information, contact Laura Short at 931-296-4300.

Landowner Assistance Approved

Humphreys County has been approved for approximately $700,000.00 to assist landowners with flood damage projects such as repairing fences, removal of gravel and debris, repairing waterways and ponds etc. Final specifications are yet to come. Official signup will begin Monday June 14th through August 12th although we already have a list of almost 100 individuals. FEMA Service Center to Close June 3

The FEMA Response Center in Waverly will be closing as of Thursday June 3rd at 7:00 P.M.  Representatives from the Small Business Administration will likely remain on site in the Fire Hall for a few days to assist with small business loans.
