Alcohol Compliance Checks Conducted

The Waverly Police Department conducted an alcohol compliance check on local businesses who sell alcoholic beverages on April 23.  The operation was led by Officer Jonathan Fortner.  The department periodically conducts these checks to help ensure that businesses who hold beer permits do not sell to minors. Drug Arrests Near School Property

PRESS RELEASE Waverly Police Officers arrested Chris Mayberry of Waverly following a traffic stop on East Main St., March 10.  Officer Devin Elliott stopped a van driven by Mark McIllwain, (also of Waverly), in which Mayberry was a passenger, for a traffic violation.  A tip from Drug Detective Tony Ahne indicated that Mayberry was transporting cocaine. Recent Burglaries Solved

PRESS RELEASE Christopher Wayne Grasty has been arrested and charged with multiple burglaries including several here in Humphreys County.  Grasty was arrested by the Lexington, TN Police Department as he was breaking into a restaurant during the early morning hours of March 1.  Over the past several months numerous business burglaries have occurred in McEwen, Waverly, and Humphreys County.  Nearly all of the burglaries consisted of a glass door or window being broken along with items and...
