CPA Session 7 Graduates!

The 7th session of the Citizens Police Academy graduated Tuesday night.  The class spent its final night on the firearms range where they were able to shoot a variety of departmental weapons and received information about the use of force.  A graduation ceremony and dinner followed. Elliott Promoted to Sergeant

Chief David Daniel promoted Officer Devin Elliott to the rank of Sergeant on Wednesday.  He will become the evening/night shift supervisor and is also the department training officer.  “Sgt. The Department of Public Safety has released its Annual Report for 2010.  This is the first annual report to be compiled by our agency.  It is our goal to continue publishing an annual report and to improve content and format each year. Session 7 of the Citizens Police Academy Underway!

Session 7 of the Citizen’s Police Academy is underway, and participants held their second session last night (Tuesday).  They covered legal topics related to law enforcement and enjoyed a great deal of discussion on the issues that police officers face.  Pictures are posted on our Facebook page.  Next week, cadets will learn about patrol operations and tactics including real-world scenarios.

WPD to Increase Handicap/Fire Lane Parking Enforcement

The Waverly Police Department has stepped up its enforcement of handicapped and fire lane parking regulations in all shopping and public parking areas.  The Department encourages everyone to park legally to make handicaped parking accessible to those in need and keep our fire lanes clear for emergency response.
