Session 7 of the Citizen’s Police Academy Announced!

Citizens Police Academy -Session 7 Session 7 of the Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) is set to begin Tuesday, February 15 at 6pm.  Chief David Daniel and officers from the Waverly Police Department will conduct the program.  Classes are approximately three hours in length and are held every Tuesday night through April 19th.  Topics covered in the course include an overview of the law enforcement profession, criminal law, drug enforcement, patrol, firearms, DUI, defensive tactics, crime...

Grant Received from Fred’s

2010 Police Officer of the Year

Shaun Wilson has been named the 2010 Police Officer of the Year.  The award was given at the City Christmas Dinner and is voted on by members of the Police Department. “Shaun was selected by the members of the Department because of the consistent quality of his work.  He is a dedicated and hard working officer”, said Chief David Daniel.  Officer Wilson has been a member of the department for three years.
