Captain Larry Lescure attended a 16 hr Advanced Vehicle Extrication school sponsored by the Stewart County and Paris Landing Fire Departments on Sept. 11-12.  The course presented students with advanced rescue scenarios involving multiple patients, multiple vehicles and unique situations. This hands-on course is considered the “next step” above basic extrication. DPS Receives Safety GrantAugust 31, 2010 The Tennessee Municipal League (TML) recently awarded the City of Waverly Department of Public Safety its Safety Partners Grant.  The $1,500 matching grant is used to assist with the purchase of safety related equipment.  The grant will be used to purchase high visibility traffic vests, rain gear, and flashlights for personnel, as well as an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
