Pair Charged in Burglary to WJHS
On June 20, The Waverly Police Department responded to a report of a burglary at the Waverly Junior High School. Sgt. Shaun Wilson found that 2 intruders had entered an unlocked door at the rear of the school and ransacked several classrooms. They also took a few items from the school. Sgt. Wilson was able to obtain video camera footage of the intruders from school officials.

Officer David Ross and his K9 partner Crockett did a demonstration for the 3rd Grade class at Waverly Elementary School. The kids enjoyed a drug detection demo as well as an apprehension bite demo. Sgt. Shaun Wilson and Officer Jordan Coble helped with the event.
Officer Jordan Coble was named the 2018 Police Officer of the Year. The award is voted on by members of the Police Department and was presented by Chief Grant Gillespie at the department’s Christmas party.
