Successful Drug Take Back Day

The Waverly Police Department received more than 100 pounds of prescription drugs during its 5 hour Drug Take Back day last Saturday. The Drug Take Back was part of a national initiative to collect unwanted or expired prescription drugs. Taylor Graduates Police Academy

Waverly Public Safety Officer Chris Taylor graduated Basic Police School at the TN Law Enforcement Training Academy on March 16. The 10 week school meets the TN POST basic training requirements for new police officers. Officer Taylor was hired in October of 2011 after an extensive hiring process implemented by the Waverly Police Department. WPD Cautions Residents About Scammers

The Waverly Police Department wants to caution residents about home improvement scams that recently occurred to at least two city residents. On March 23, a local homeowner reported that two men offered to put roof sealer on her roof. They agreed upon a price and after the work was done, they attempted to overcharge the resident.
